Artist Jeanne Weymouth

Painting With Wool!

About Jeanne: I have been mad for color, art, paint, paper, textiles, and design since I was a child. Always ready to explore a new art technique, my primary goal is to have fun creating and making sure that my students do too. I am on this planet to whip up an endless variety of art projects; enjoy my precious family and friends; eat really good food; laugh a lot; and pet my sweet (and adorably willful) dogs. Amen.

Workshop description: You will have fun enjoying the art of dry needle-felting.  You will learn about various wool rovings and materials necessary to create a picture “painted with wool.”  Using wool mats, special needles, and wool, you will create a picture/scene of your choice after learning simple and more advanced felting techniques.  Bring your love of color, texture, learning, an interest in the rhythm of felting, and your sense of humor and curiosity to class.

Participants need to bring: If you already have felting materials (mats, needles, roving), PLEASE bring your supplies to class. Jeanne will also bring many pads, needles, roving, and some other tools. When you register for class, please indicate if you will be bringing your own felting MAT. Jeanne will have quite a few, but she wants to make sure we have plenty for the whole class. Look at the wool painted pictures to start thinking about what you might want to create. Jeanne will also have plenty of ideas/graphics for you if you would like.

There is a $5.00 supply fee paid directly to Jeanne if you use materials provided by her.  You will be able to dig into her huge stash of roving and she will provide all needles necessary; they break easily, so she will have plenty replacements. Registration closes Wednesday, March 4th.
